Postponement of Vocational Olympiads

PROCEDE - March 17, 2020 - 0 comments

In order to counter the spread of the COVID-19 virus, government authorities have decided to ban gatherings and indoor events of more than 250 people at least until mid-April. They also decreed that public places be closed for at least 30 days, a decree that could be protracted.

These decisions affect the organizing process of the 16th Quebec Trades Olympiad and Technologies that must take place from May 6, in 50 days.  Even hoping for a faster recovery than expected, the current context makes impossible the preparation of the event and its delivery in acceptable conditions. In addition, due to the unpredictable health conditions in the current context, the optimal conditions are not met to propose an event open to the public.

The board of directors of Compétences Québec is therefore forced to postpone the 16th edition of the Olympiads in 2021. The new schedule will be specified at a later date.
